Although Susana was only at Aviário for a week, she took her 2D illustrations into the three dimensional world of clay. This proved to be an interesting challenge, and the first few days were spent figuring out the best way to tackle her block of clay in order to achieve a rendition of “Calamity Jane”. As the days went by, her character took shape, and was decorated with coloured slips, which meant she was able to speed up the process of achieving a coloured object. Her piece was then glazed in a transparent glaze and fired once again.
