Multimedia artist Devon came to Aviário to be fully immersed in her ceramics practice for two and a half months. She arrived with a basic knowledge of throwing, and improved tremendously during her stay. She spent her days at the wheel, practicing and trying out new forms, and has now achieved results she is very happy with and can see herself pursuing in the future, her next challenge will be to throw even taller pieces now that she’s mastered wide plates and bowls. Devon also learnt the bases of glaze making, and even mixed a couple of her own glazes, and was able to achieve a transparent crazed glaze.
