Myrna Pronchuk is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, and soundbased media, blurring the boundaries of form and expression.
During her residency at Aviário Studio, she gathered objects from a local scrapyard and wove them into her practice, allowing these found materials to guide the narrative of her new work. She explored cyanotype, layering its results into her paintings and, in turn, incorporating her paintings into cyanotypes. She also experimented with engraving and etching, gifting us a beautiful print of her drawing of Aviário Studio.
Throughout her stay, Myrna kept a diary and painted a visual narrative. In the end, she revealed to us a poetic journey populated with fantastical creatures and landscapes, drawn directly from her imagination.
