Artist in Residence 2024 - Kelly Albin is a Canadian artist based in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Her work reflects a fusion of her fine arts education at a specialized high school, her professional experience as a forester and biologist—where art and nature intertwine—and her nomadic spirit. Kelly is a multidisciplinary artist whose art encompasses a blend of abstraction and realism or a unique combination of both. While at Aviário Studio, she challenged herself to work on a larger scale, creating four large canvases alongside others in more familiar sizes. She also explored a less figurative style, allowing her brushes and ink to flow and drip freely. Additionally, she experimented with monotypes, further expanding her creative practice.
