During her residency, Isabel Baraona developed the project “A Mão que Segura e a que se Eleva no Ar” (The Hand that Holds and the One that Rises in the Air). The project encompassed a publication, a postcard, and a cycle of three exhibitions, taking as its starting point the artistic practice of Ana Hatherly.
Organized by Pessoa Coletiva (Mafalda Santos & Susana Gaudêncio), the project unfolded over three years and was presented in three different cities — Porto, Faro, and Évora. It brought together three artists — Isabel Baraona, Mafalda Santos, and Susana Gaudêncio — whose distinct voices were connected by the intelligent and creative hand of Ana Hatherly.
